Hello. My name is Michael Gillman and I'm a Raleigh, NC based photographer who loves to travel. I bought my first DSLR back in 2008 and it changed my life forever.
Over the years, I've photographed various landscapes, musicians, multicultural weddings, events, and portraits all across the US and Europe. I also love creating pop-culture film and television themed photo projects as well.
Photography has taken me places I've never dreamed of being. From hanging out backstage with the likes of Ringo Starr, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and John Cleese while shooting as house photographer for one of the top venues in the nation, to photo assignments and personal projects in Hawaii, Warner Brothers Studios in London, and Scotland. I'm very grateful for these opportunities and want to keep building upon them.
My work can be found on several websites such as The Smithsonian Institute's digital History of Rock and Roll archives, several local magazines, as well as national music publications. I've also written articles for sites such as FujiLove and Alienskin Software.
I've got a lot more travel and projects in the works. I can't wait to see, explore, and photograph new landscapes, meet new people, and take on new challenges both here and abroad.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
